It was an exclusive, star-studded, red carpet event at The 40/40 Club celebrating “50 Years Of Hip-Hop” with some of the biggest names in the industry – Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, Fabolous, Funkmaster Flex, Remy Ma, Papoose, Melle Mel, Jim Jones, and more.
As part of a series of high-profile events happening around the country and in New York City to mark the anniversary, the night included performances by the artists, all intended to unite the community and uplift and honor every aspect of Hip Hop culture.
NYC VIBE was on the red carpet talking to the artists from the past and sent to understand where Hip Hop came from and where it’s going.
The 50th anniversary celebrates a legendary party that took place in The Bronx on 8/11/73, hosted by Clive Campbell AKA DJ Kool Herc, founding father of hip hop.
