Everything that happened at the 2026 Met Gala in under 3 minutes!

Timothée Chalamet rode atop one of the double-decker celebrity/alumni buses and was basically the crowd’s hype man - grabbing the mic to lead “Let’a go, Knicks” chants, high-fiving fans along the route, and dancing with Knicks greats like Frazier, King and Starks - and notably attended without girlfriend Kylie Jenner #knicks #timotheechalamet #jalenbrunson #parade #nyc
Mitchell Robinson, the Knicks’ center, brought his truck to the Knicks parade. He’s a huge truck guy, it’s basically part of who he is and he promised he’d bring the truck to the celebration. He kept that promise and rolled through the parade in it. Promises made, promises delivered. #knicks #mitchellrobinson #nyc #parade #jalenbrunson

Legendary Actor John Lithgow Breaks Two Records with Tony Award

John Lithgow won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play at the 79th Annual Tony Awards for his riveting and deep portrayal of children’s author Roald Dahl in Mark Rosenblatt’s drama, Giant - which dives into a dark chapter of Dahl’s life back in 1983 when he faced intense backlash over his antisemitic comments.

John is a three-time Tony Award winner - putting him in a special circle of only four actors who have won Tony Awards across three distinct acting categories.

Lithgow became the oldest competitive acting winner at the age of 80 years old, breaking the previous record - John last won a Tony 53 years ago in 1973 for The Changing Room.

What a great night it was for Cats: The Jellicle Ball - winning for Best Direction with Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch, And best choreography under the direction of Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons.

Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s worldwide phenomenon “Cats” is reimagined and ascends to Broadway in a kaleidoscope of glittering spectacle, iconic music and electrifying ballroom choreography.

NYC VIBE wishes congratulations to all of the nominees and winners.

Now back to the theater everyone, There is a show to put on…

The Material Girl Pop Up Concert in NYC Times Square

Thursday Night June 4, 2026 - NYC Times Square:

The material girl certainly showed she still has it - Madonna surprised many by performing an unannounced 15-minute pop-up concert high above in Times Square on Thursday evening.

The 67 year old music legend partnered with the gay dating app Grindr to host the event, drawing over 50,000 onlookers to kick off Pride Month and promote her newly announced 15th studio album, Confessions II.

The pop icon appeared on stage draped in a sheer pink-and-purple veil, then dramatically stripping down to show a custom Dolce & Gabbana outfit featuring a skintight lacy pink corset, blue bra, silver cropped jacket, and knee-high silver boots.

Between songs, the stage lights flashed the rainbow Pride flag while the giant Times Square billboards transformed into a massive screening room showing historical footage of LGBTQ+ activism and protest roots.

Madonna performed a high-energy mix of new material alongside some of her most celebrated dance-floor anthems.
