At a nearly exact replica of the original Polo Bar, Ralph Lauren sat to her left, with Lauren’s son and head of innovation David Lauren and his wife, Lauren Bush Lauren, granddaughter of George H.W. Bush was on her right.
The First Lady wore a black Ralph Lauren suit, with a sparkly brooch on her lapel.
Just like in New York City, the specially made for the night Polo Bar in the Hamptons was the center of fashion, celebrity and political power.
Naomi Watts, Jude Law, Tom Hiddleston, Usher, Justin Theroux were joined by Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Lucky Blue Smith for the runway show and the dinner afterwards.
Following the runway show, guests were welcomed into a true re-creation of Ralph Lauren’s iconic hospitality experience – The Polo Bar – infusing into the evening the sophistication and the effortless elegance of a Hamptons summer evening. Guests were ushered through the ‘Tack Room’, decorated with deep green beadboard walls, adorned with saddle racks, polo helmets and colorful mallets welcoming guests into a reproduction of the iconic bar at The Polo Bar, including brass lanterns, silver champagne bowls, glass shelves and a brass topped bar.
Guests will then be greeted by The Polo Bar’s maître d’ and waitstaff and seated in the main dining room, featuring coffered ceilings with faceted lighting, green billiard wallcoverings and cozy, intimate banquettes for seating. A locally sourced menu featuring just-caught local fish as well as the iconic Polo Bar Burger will be served on the restaurant’s signature green and white dinnerware, accented with silver service ware. Well known for its creative cocktail offering and extensive wine list, The Polo Bar will offer a bespoke cocktail for the evening, fittingly named ‘Hamptons Spritz’. This all followed a runway show to be remembered – more than 100 looks – including Polo and Purple Lines showcasing bright optimistic colors and patterns.
